BlueWallet features

Multisig vaults. A vault is a wallet with multiple keys. The documentation says BlueWallet creates a 2-of-3 vault by default, and that other quorums and address types are available in the advanced options. It works with other BlueWallet apps and with PSBT-compatible wallets, among them Electrum, Specter, Coldcard and Cobo Vault. The documentation also says the vault backup is essential for recovering the wallet if you lose one of your seeds, and that creating all keys on one device gives the same security as a regular bitcoin wallet. Watch-only wallets and hardware wallets. You import a hardware wallet as watch-only using its public key, build the transaction in BlueWallet, sign the PSBT on the device and bring the signed transaction back to broadcast it. The website names Coldcard, Passport, Jade and Keystone, and says other PSBT-compatible devices work too. Lightning through LNDHub. The documentation says Lightning in BlueWallet is powered by LNDHub, an open-source service made by BlueWallet. To create a Lightning wallet you enter the URI of an LNDHub node, and the documentation has guides for setting one up yourself. Its FAQ advises keeping Lightning balances small. Fee and coin tools. The website lists speeding up or cancelling transactions with RBF and CPFP, batching payments, labelling coins and freezing specific coins so they are not spent. Its privacy list names new addresses, Payjoin, BIP47 payment codes, connecting to your own node, and multiple storages for plausible deniability.

Security and custody

BlueWallet’s source code is on GitHub under the MIT licence. The README says private keys never leave your device and lists encryption and plausible deniability among the features. With a multisig vault, keep the vault backup safe: the documentation calls it essential for recovery if you lose one of your seeds. These are the maker’s own descriptions of the app, so test a restore with a small amount before you rely on any setup.
